Musk: Grok 4.8 will complete training this week, with parameter count reaching 2.5 trillion and a new C++ software stack
Musk revealed on X platform that Grok 4.8 has 2.5 trillion parameters and uses a new C++ software stack for training. After completing training this week, it will start reinforcement learning. Previously, Grok 4.7 was scheduled to be released on September 12, but later it was said that it needs to wait a few more days. The delay is related to reinforcement learning.
